Big John Mills is one of the best guitar players in Texas. He’s been named Musician of the Year by the Academy of Texas 3 times. A regular in honky tonks, bars, restaurants, and recording studios around the state, he is currently living in San Marcos. Bigfest, held every year at Cheatham Street Warehouse, is a fundraiser for the Cheatham Street Music Foundation and a celebration of his birthday. John’s guitar wizardry has been dazzling audiences for years, both live and in the studio. John recently answered 10 questions for me.

I Hope someday to play The Grand Ole Opry and Cheatham Street Warehouse is my favorite,

What is your best story about life on the road?
One Night I was playing a club on the road with the band and the club owner refused to pay us. He had A Great Night at the door and was just being a Drunk Jerk.So we Loaded his Video Game Machines in the Trailer and said we would give them back when we get paid. Needless to say we got all our money that night.
