Charlie Wilson, unquestionably lives to please, while never letting any grass sprout under his feet. Back in October of ‘09, Wilson performed at the Las Vegas Hilton where he literally packed the whole house. There is where Wilson seduced the audience with his incomparable voice- at the same time, showing off his excellent variations of talented performances, while revealing to the passionate crowd exactly who Charlie Wilson really is.
Wilson, a prominent icon, singer-songwriter and producer, exemplifies a set of standards for those artists who are attempting to break in the music industry. In the early 80s, Charlie Wilson was the lead singer of the group ‘The Gap Band,’ along with his two brothers Ronnie and the late Robert Wilson.
This soulful, R&B group, lured multitudes of fans with smooth hits like ‘Yearning For Your Love,’ ‘Burn Rubber On Me,’ ‘Outstanding,’ ‘Early in the Morning’ and ‘You Dropped A Bomb On Me.’ For the most part, the charming Charlie, lead singer of the Gap Band, dominated the majority of rhythm and blues airwaves from coast to coast!
On his own, Charlie Wilson’s distinctive voice had the Las Vegas Hilton on fire. He testified about his recovery from Prostate Cancer, and informed the already high energy crowd that percentages of his earnings are donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
After that astonishing confession, Wilson persuaded everybody to stand up to give thanks and praises to the Almighty God for about thirty (30) seconds. The earthquake people felt inside the Las Vegas Hilton was the sheer movement of rumbling from grooving and moving, while dancing to Wilson’s spirit filled music; moments later, Wilson beautifully singing from his CD, Uncle Charlie, with ‘There Goes My Baby,’ followed by ‘Can’t Live Without You.’ Unbelievable!
That night, Charlie Wilson emphasized musically from his CD “Uncle Charlie,” nevertheless, Wilson willingly contributed his music to the hip-hop industry in significant ways.
The Soul Train Icon Winner, Charlie Wilson, also collaborated with his nephew Snoop Dogg, along with Pharrell, on the Grammy nominated track, ‘Beautiful.’ Also, Lil Kim requested the presence of Charlie Wilson in the remake of ‘Computer Love.’ And let’s not forget that Wilson was the best friend/creative partner to the late Roger Troutman, which he inputted the licks to that particular hit single, Computer Love from back in the day.
Charlie Wilson is obviously in it to win it so much that he’s returning to Las Vegas, Nevada. Wilson’s showing his thanks the night after Thanksgiving and his goal is to enrich the Las Vegas Hilton for two consecutive evenings; that Friday and Saturday, November 25th and the 26th of 2011.
It’s imperative to those in town enjoying the glitz of Las Vegas holiday vibe that Charlie Wilson’s show shouldn’t be denied. It’s a no brainer that the locals of Vegas will be there with flying colors.
