The Twilight Movies and Books series is hot. All ages and genders are on edge waiting for the newest entry. This has transformed into our everyday lives influencing attire and the décor. Who would not like to live out a little of the romance, mystery, and excitement that these fictional stories embody? This is the best time of year to bring these expressions into your abode. Celebrate the season of Halloween all year round with the beauty of Twilight in your interior decorating.
When imagining a décor in terms of Twilight, we think about a darker, more mysterious masculine romance. This is perfect for pleasing everyone in the household.
The first step to your design should be choosing your room’s color palette. Immediately we want lush colors of reds and purples as well as black and white. We imagine the romance of darkness with many candles. When considering the proper colors to adorn the walls bring the feeling of the darkness without making the room dark. Consider painting an accent wall in a deep red or purple with the remaining walls in a soft gray. Instead of a typical white painted trim, paint molding in a high gloss black.
If you want to keep the walls more neutral, consider painting a couple of walls in a faux stone, as if in an old castle. Install a mural on one wall to replicate the forest seen in Twilight books in neutral colors of gray and white, black and white, or even silver with white or black.
Fabric will add dimension to the decor. Use rich silks, satin, and velvets in different textures and patterns for draperies, bedding and accent pillows. In a bedroom you may want to drape a canopy over the bed. Red velvet immediately comes to mind and looks lovely on a chair. If you do not mind heavy window treatment then garnish the windows with velvet and fringe. Think draping; dress up tables with runners, and drape a flowing fabric over a lamp shade to add softness. Layer the sofas, chairs, and beds with decorative throws and pillows in different fabrics, colors, and patterns, such as damasks. Have some beautiful woven fabric large pillows on the floor in front of a fireplace.
Now it is your time to accessorize. Accessories complete the décor and bring individuality to the design of a room and can be easily swapped around for a change with your moods and seasons. In addition to accent pillows and throws you will want to add some interesting trimmings to the abode. Candles are lovely, and can fill the room with romance, warmth, and a beautiful scent. Display candles in a candelabra for more dimension. Hang a chandelier and light sconces in a room. Paint a chandelier in a high gloss black or red.
There are exquisite vampire and gargoyle accents pieces that are very much understated. Your guests will not even notice a gargoyle on a light fixture until they closely inspect and comment how beautiful and unique the piece is.
Make a floral arrangement of red roses with a single black rose for a conversation piece. Wall decor adds life. Vampires bring to mind silver and mirrors so decorate a wall with silver framed mirrors.
Express your inner being as you take in the ambience and never be afraid to dance!
