When it’s time to meditate we want to have all the elements needed to make our journey a pleasant one. Music, a comfortable place, water, and a relaxed attitude will help us get grounded and centered.
Elements of wood, water, stone, air, all coming together to surround you to bring you to that meditative state that will allow your spirit to open, your chakras to align and your body to heal and rest, and your mind to soar.
I met up with Mike in Dana Point to chat and check out his offices and found a large empty room with no activity and plenty of energy. With all the elements surrounding the building it was a great area to sit and talk about his expectations for the place.
The upstairs are his offices, The Advanced Mind Body Recovery and the downstairs is empty. Well not being used is a better term because from the moment you walk in everything about the building is welcoming.
There is a fountain that covers the right hand wall the slow trickle of the water over the stones is a calming welcome from the busy of the streets. With small stones reading; Creativity, Balance, Team Work, and Thankful a representation of what it takes to run his business.
On the other side of the entrance is a large wood carving with intricate carvings that was made by someone with patience, the kind of patience that it would take to embark in a spiritual journey, a journey as complex as the carvings.
There is a large room that would comfortably accommodate about 40 people and maybe a dozen for a yoga workout and the sliding doors offer a breeze that can only be found in Southern California. The only thing missing is the energy of a group.
My favorite spot is the back patio with a large two level deck and covered gazebo with a fountain against the wall and large bamboo it offers the calm atmosphere for a group meeting, meditation workshop, or an intimate conversation.
Mike came upon the building after having his headquarters at home for his intervention services. Intervention America offers recovery to the addict as well as the family and he needed a bigger location to be able to offer such services.
With the help of several of his friends, Mike B, Suzanne, Daniel, and others he took over the building and started to clean and reconstruct the area. Together they are able to offer families a save and comfortable place to heal.
Mike says, “I want my life to be useful”. After having a successful career in marketing, 11 in Recovery and having worked with interventions centers, the transition was a natural one. Guided by his spirit he launched his own center.
“A vision doesn’t have to stop because other people don’t get onboard. We are co-creators with God”, with those words I walked away excited to see what energy will come into this building, excited to see who will join Mike on his mission.
The beauty of Laguna Beach is that we have beaches and parks all around to give us the elements needed to go on that wonderful journey. There are classes and workshops available to help us get centered and meditate.
But what if you wanted to teach a workshop? What if you had a gift that you wanted to share with others? What if you are just launching yourself in the world of yoga, Reiki, or other healing methods and want to practice?
If you have an idea for a class, workshop, a service that you think would be a great addition to The Advanced Mind Body Recovery Center get in touch with Mike at 714-602-5904 or at info@AdvanceMindBody.org and make an appointment to visit his the building at 34190 Sepulveda Ave, Dana Point, CA 92624.
