“Alibi” by 30 Seconds to Mars wouldn’t be the first of the band’s songs to appear in a film’s trailer. Songs like “Kings and Queens” have appeared in trailers before for movies like “The Legends of the Guardians”and “Avatar.” Which makes sense given the song’s upbeat lyrics and toe-tapping beat. But “Alibi” is a little more mellow and thought-provoking, making it a perfect add on to the film trailer for “The Vision of Paolo Soleri.”
The guys—30 Seconds to Mars singer, Jared Leto, brother and Mars drummer Shannon and guitarist Tomo Milicevic—posted the video on their YouTube page as well as letting fans know about it via their regular newsletter “Transmission.”
According to Arcosanti.org, the Italian-born architect’s major contribution is a project called Arcosanti. It’s
a prototype town for 5,000 people designed by Soleri, under construction since 1970. Located at Cordes Junction, in central Arizona, the project is based on Soleri’s concept of “Arcology,” architecture coherent with ecology. Arcology advocates cities designed to maximize the interaction and accessibility associated with an urban environment; minimize the use of energy, raw materials and land, reducing waste and environmental pollution; and allow interaction with the surrounding natural environment.
