October 20, 2011 — ‘American Horror Story’ started off with a bang again on Wednesday. This time a bit more interesting than the last two starts. The year was 1983, and the players are all familiar. The nosy neighbor, Constance, walks in to find her husband, and the maid, Moira, sleeping together.
Constance freaks out, and shoots and kills the maid, and her husband. Flash forward to the present day, and
Vivien is ready to put her house on the market after the home invasion. However, the couple is forced to live in the creepy home when they learn all their money is tied up into the home.
Vivien decides to take the murder tour, whose main attraction is her home. She hears the story about the house’s original owners, a doctor, and his spoiled, bored, wife. The doctor, an avid drug user in the 1930’s, had an eerie Frankenstein hobby, and is forced into performing illegal abortions by his wife, when the couple are having money troubles.
Meanwhile, Ben’s former mistresses, who claims she’s pregnant, comes to town, and reveals she didn’t have a miscarriage. She is clearly delusional, and unstable, so Ben plays along to try to diffuse the situation. However, when he walks out the door, and is killed by the crazy ex-murderer, who used to live in the Harmon’s house.
Ben freaks out, as the fire starter buries the body, only to find the ghostly maid’s bones. “You’re never leaving this house,” Constance tells her, as Ben pours concrete, and builds a gazebo over the remains of the two women’s bodies.
‘American Horror Story’ continues to draw in audiences weekly, and has easily become the edgiest new show on television; keeping viewers on their toes, guessing about the mysteries of the house, and always wanting more.
