This weekend will be the first weekend in October already. I have no idea where the time has gone this summer but now we’re heading into fall. This weekend is full of events for pets and the people who love them. Take advantage of the nice weather and attend a pet friendly event or just get out and spend time with your pet. Either way, it makes for a better relationship between you and your pet.
Saturday morning will start off bright and early with the Paws 4 Hope Now canine cancer walk in Noblesville. Registration is available the day of the event and begins at 9 AM. There are several different paths to walk on and the park is beautiful. There will be vendors and info booths in the pavilion and Patty Spitler from Pet Pals Tv will be there as well. It is a very pet and family friendly event and a great way to remember our pets with cancer or just learn more about it and how to prevent it in your dog.
Later that same day, the 7th Annual Hair Ball will kick off at 2:30 PM. This is a fundraiser for Spay Neuter Services of Indiana. It’s another very family friendly event with children’s activities and kids under 16 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door if there are any remaining but they suggest buying them in advance. There will be live music, food, drinks, silent and live auctions. It’s a casual event but no animals are allowed at this event.
Also on Saturday, Casa del Toro will be hosting an adoption day and education event in Plainfield. It will be at Katie’s Professional Dog Grooming on Main Street from 10 AM-3 PM. Their booth will be part of the Quaker Day Celebration so there will be booths selling food, arts and crafts and a carnival.
Are you interested in having your dog tested for his Canine Good Citizen or American Temperment Test? The Hoosier Rottweiler Club will be holding a Responsible Dog Owner Day on October 1. You can click the link to the club for more info.
Sunday has fewer events and will be a little slower paced. You can take your pets to the Northminster Presbyterian Church on Kessler Boulevard for their blessing of the animals at 1 PM. Later that evening, stop by the Milano Inn for Puppies, Pasta and Bocce. This Sunday, Louisville Weimeraner Rescue will be the recipient of 10% of your bill. You can take your dogs with you and eat out on the patio. It’s a wonderful way to wind down the weekend with your family, your dog and some great Italian food.
