The 19th Annual Apple Fest is being held in Long Grove on the first weekend in October, September 30 through October 2, 2011. The historic village of Long Grove is located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
The fall bounty of apples is celebrated, along with food, family activities, demos, shopping and live entertainment. Apple themed treats available at the fest include apple cider donuts, brown bag apple pies, apple lattes and apple martinis.
The lineup of great entertainment on the stage in Fountain Square and at the Covered Bridge and the Mill Pond will feature folk, bluegrass, country, rock, and jazz throughout the three-day weekend.
Families with children will find plenty of activities for kids, including pony rides, kiddie rides, face painting, and educational booths.
Long Grove Apple Fest is free to attend and the entertainment is free. Food, beverages and gift items are available for sale.
