When season 5 of Army Wives ended in June with the promise of a new season in Winter 2012, fans immediately wanted something more specific. We might not have a season 6 premiere date for Army Wives, but we do know – via an update from the show’s official Facebook page – that the cast and crew will be back on the set next week to begin filming season 6.
Army Wives, which airs on Lifetime, left us with an emotionally charged season 5, including the death of a character earlier in the season and the question marks of an uncertain future in the finale. Fans have much to speculate about as we wait for season 6.
In the meantime, here’s a quick look back at season 5:
~ After learning that it was physically unsafe for Joan to carry another baby, the Burtons began adoption proceedings and welcomed young David to the family. After an initially bumpy start with Joan, the season ended with him calling her mom for the first time.
~ The Sherwoods started off on a high note in season 5 with baby Molly being born and Jeremy getting engaged, but then tragedy struck. Jeremy was killed in the line of duty and – naturally – both Denise and Frank struggled to cope with the death of their only son. While they will always feel that loss, they both made great strides in moving forward while still keeping Jeremy’s memory alive.
~ The LeBlanc family faced some real marital troubles this past season and there were times where it looked like Trevor and Roxy wouldn’t be able to work things out. Part of these troubles were related to Roxy going forward with opening a truck stop with a customer and Finn learning that Roxy’s old friend from the past was actually his biological father. After all these various hiccups, the truck stop opened and all was well again in the LeBlanc household.
~ Ah, the Holdens. Emmalin went safely off to college, but quickly became overwhelmed and struggled to keep her head above water. Claudia Joy had a variety of health scares and moved forward with her newly earned law degree. General Michael Holden faced various struggles throughout the season – the greatest of which when he got the news that his base was officially being shutdown.
~ The Moran family found their way back together, complete with a new wedding that was fraught with bad luck omens, but came out beautifully. The future of this family is highly questionable, as Pamela tells Chase she thinks he should take a job offer in California.
Lots of questions hanging in the air just waiting to be answered.
One of those questions being: Winter 2012…When would that be specifically? In an attempt to get more info on that, this writer checked in with Sally Pressman (Roxy LeBlanc) via Twitter back in August and the closest to go time she could get us was probably January/February of 2012. Here’s hoping more January than February. Stay tuned…
While you wait for the season 6 premiere of Army Wives, the season 5 DVD is officially available in the Lifetime shop.
