A Group exhibition of the top ten finalists will be held online at the Light Space & Time Art Gallery for the month of December 2011. The theme is the Countryside and the gallery wants all 2D artists to send us your best interpretation of the theme “Countryside” by depicting rural living, the outdoors and pastoral scenes. Light Space & Time encourages entries from all 2D artists regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field. LOCAL ARTISTS APPLY NOW: STUDIO SPACE IS AVAILABLE
The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) has a new home for its Storefront Studios program in downtown Springfield at the Wilhoit Plaza property at 431 S. Jefferson, Suite 164. The new studios boasts a central location convenient to the First Friday Art Walk and other artistic venues, theatres, shopping and restaurants. The innovative Storefront Studios program encourages artists and creative entrepreneurs to test the viability of new creative and arts-related retail by providing access to empty retail spaces.
Fresh Gallery: A Collective Gallery of Art and Craft is looking for new 2-D and 3-D artists interested in joining the only cooperatively-run gallery in town. Any artists who would like showcase their art as well as have a vested interest in the gallery itself is welcome is apply. Connect with the public, build a clientele and grow as an artist!

QUILTS FOR JOPLIN – accepting quilts for donation
The talented quilters at the Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Guild are busy stitching quilts for the tornado victims in Joplin. Each of these quilts will tell a story of the compassion and support of the people in the four state area. If you have quilts you would like to donate to the Joplin relief effort, bring them to the guild building any Tuesday between 9am – 4pm. The guild building is located in the Village Shopping Center, 2738 S.

A Cricket in the House is a new home furnishings and “functional art” shop opening May 6 in downtown Springfield. We are seeking area artists/craftspeople that do any of the following:
Metal work, Glasswork or Stained glass, Candle makers, Furniture makers, Bird houses and garden creations, Indoor and outdoor accents, Mobiles and chimes, Note and greeting cards
