Hi all! I have come across quite an unexpected find for a date night suggestion on the South side of Atlanta. As you know I like to share all the yummy places I find with you guys and invite you to go out and try them for yourselves.
This little gem is in Stockbridge right off Eagle’s Landing Parkway. I was out with my husband and we were circling the town as we always do trying to find something to eat and trying to avoid the same 3 restaurants we always end up at because we didn’t want to drive into the city.
There is a little place right off the main drag on Eagle’s Landing Parkway that has been opened for a little while ( they actually opened in March of 2011) so we thought we’d pop in and try it. WOW! I am so glad we did!
Sticks and Stones, owned by William Wilson, is a neighborhood bar and grill type establishment. At first glance this is a very unassuming restaurant on the corner of a strip that, like everything else on Eagle’s Landing Parkway, has a great view of the construction going on to widen the road. While small and low key behind the construction is it’s outward appearance, what waits for you inside is amazing food, great drinks, good music and a place that will see me back again many times.
Not only were the steaks and seafood we had tasty, but Sticks and Stones has a unique setup to offer you an alternative way to cook your food.

On The Stone!
Any of our succulent Hand-cut USDA Premium Choice Steak OR Fresh Seafood brought to your table sizzling on
a 750° Volcanic Stones, to be prepared by you to your desired doneness. A truly memorable experience. But remember —no matter how good it is, PLEASE don’t lick your Stone clean!
This fun and inventive way to prepare your meal was brought back to William by his son and partner at Sticks and Stone’s, Elijah Wilson, from Nuremberg Germany. He discovered it while spending time there while serving in the Airborne Infantry.
We started our meal with a complimentary basket of homestyle potato chips and drinks prepared by Sticks and Stones bartender Kristin Cochran. I’m going to tell you guys right now, she’s the best bartender on this side of Atlanta. That woman makes a strong drink. Attended to by our server, Chelsey, we listened to the live tunes of Nate Bennett in the background. He played at just the right volume, we weren’t having to scream to hear each other, but could still listen and enjoy his music.
I got the sampler with shrimp, scallops and steak. All three were served with their own dipping sauces and I got a side of grilled mushrooms. Every thing I put in my mouth was delicious! My husband ordered grilled chicken with sweet potato fries and rice. We ended up sharing both plates of food with each other and wishing we had just a little more.
William came by to talk with us for a while and brought us out two incredible desserts. Key-lime pie (which is always my favorite) and a cheesecake sampler cup! Both gone almost before they hit the table!
With it’s low key atmosphere and upscale food, Sticks and Stones will find me visiting again and again. The volcanic stone cooking is like fondue fun for the new millennium!
