It was a brave and drastic measure that Jake Pavelka took joining the cast of Bachelor Pad (channel 15 in Phoenix) after all the drama that surfaced around Vienna Girardi and his break up (you can check out an interview with Chris Harrison from 2010 after their explosive break up to the left). Most would agree the relationship ended badly.
During the entire season (at least what viewers saw) Jake was treated badly by Vienna and her boyfriend Kasey Kahl (who regrets his behavior). Jake told the couple he was ‘disappointed’ in the way he was treated and asked Kasey why he needed to punch him in the face for America. Kasey quickly apologized for that comment. In fact, these two men actually hugged the situation out after all the dirty laundry was aired.
Vienna insisted that she and Jake had closure and she said there were some good moments (she described a time they were all playing Pictionary). She told everyone it was only during those one on one moments that things got a little intense. It seemed the other houseguests didn’t agree with that statement. Judge Erica agreed with the statement that Kasey and Vienna were ‘hostile’ to Jake. Either way, hopefully everyone can move on from this relationship because after this season of the Bachelor Pad it is most likely true that America has moved on.
It is interesting that in the 2010 interview to the left with Chris Harrison that Vienna consistently accused Jake of being a media whore but in this season finale of the Bachelor Pad Jake said the same thing about her (in nicer words). He said he came on the show to get the opportunity to talk to Vienna. He had tried multiple times over the last year to get that closure he was looking for but she had refused his calls. He then went on to say she refused his calls because the drama meant dollar signs and her career would be very different if she had accepted his apology.
Vienna and Kasey’s relationship seems strong and Jake appears to be happier. Whatever happened in the house between these three that we didn’t see looks to have helped to repair some of the damage their explosive break up caused. While some would say Jake took drastic measures to apologize to his ex; others would argue closure is extremely important for people to be able to move on and find happiness.
