Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance is about to take over the world as people in 29 countries will dress up like zombies and dance to ‘Thriller’ for charity. Thrill the World asks,
“Did you ever want to dress up as a zombie and dance to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’?”
If the answer is yes, get ready as events take place around the world this weekend in hopes of breaking another Guinness World Record and helping out local charities.
If you’ve never heard of Thrill The World, their website describes it as:
“friends, families and other local residents who each year join together with thousands of other people around the globe to break the World Record for the Largest Simultaneous Dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller! More importantly, TTW is more than just dancing to a 5 minute song– The broader goal is to promote unity among all the peoples of the world, humanitarianism and environmental stewardship.”
The event will be held in the countries of Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, and Wales. U.S. states hosting Thrill the World are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and – oh yeah, New York.
The 2011 Long Island Thrill the World dance will be held in Islip. Click here for the website. It will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Joyce Fitzpatrick Senior Center, Brookwood Hall: 50 Irish Lane in East Islip. Bring a non-perishable item of food to help out needy families. Even if you do not want to dance, you can go and support the cause.
