As time rewinds and I think about where I would be if I had not received God’s love, I am so thankful. Just to think about the goodness of God’s love does not compare to any love known to man. It is a special kind of love, an agape love, that never fails. This soulful love is never tainted or submerged with doubt. This type of love is guaranteed to prevail and push you into greatness. This love is a love no spouse or loved one can fill. This love is a love that demands that we do better, that we become wiser, that we become stronger. This love is a love that is better than best.
With this love, is our promise to continue to learn and study more, to grow in fellowship and understanding, and to obey through honor and sacrifice. This love is a love that protects us from harm, that shelters us from plans of the enemy and showers us with favor. This love teaches us the meaning to be molded and warns us that despite our trials and tribulations, those days will pass. Even though weeping may endureth for a night, we are promised that joy will come in the morning.
His love never turns back null and void, but it multiplies as it is pressed down, shaken together, until our cup runneth over. His abundant love is spirit-filled, full of life and great expectation. His love gives us our wings and helps us create an even greater life through the beauty of his eyes. His amazing love is a love that is better than best.
I thank the Lord for loving us. I thank him for showing us what true love really means. I thank him for keeping us in his grip. I thank him for never leaving us nor forsaking us. I thank him for his wisdom. I thank him for the lessons that are learned and future lessons. I thank him for his protection. I thank him for his healing. I thank him for his comfort. I thank him for supplying our needs. I thank him for his forgiveness. I thank him for his precious mercy. I thank him for his adoring love. I thank him for his heart.
Without his love, we are nothing. With his love, we are everything. Through his love all things are possible. As we grow in our love for him, he waits patiently. As our hearts smile alongside his, we realize that this life we believe is not only the best, but better than best. Even though the best is yet to come, believing in his love is better than best, and better than that.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him-PSALMS 28:7.
