Thursday, news spread about The Biggest Loser fan favorite Sam Poueu’s accident. He sustained significant injuries in a fall on September 3. Not much is known about what happened, though he has been in the ICU in a San Francisco hospital since the accident. His cousin Koli Palu has shared an update with fans, and late Thursday night his fiance, Stephanie Anderson, tweeted her appreciation of the outpouring of fan support.
As TMZ was the first to report, Sam Poueu fell several stories from a building on September 3, receiving a pelvic injury, a broken leg, a punctured lung and torn ligaments. There was also head trauma involved, though his cousin and Biggest Loser teammate Koli says that has stabilized. Koli also shared that Sam is responsive to his mother and to Stephanie, and The Biggest Loser’s Dr. H says that he is improving a bit each day.
Thursday night, Stephanie took a moment to thank fans for their support via her Twitter page:

Fans have flooded to Sam and Stephanie’s Twitter and Facebook fan pages to send their warm wishes, and it sounds as if they are being felt and appreciated. Leading up to the accident, Sam and Stephanie were tweeting often about their wedding preparations and sharing motivational thoughts and quotes. Sam Poueu is currently a trainer for Biggest Loser Resort, and over the weekend the resort tweeted that they were putting together a care package of letters and pictures for Sam. Poueu is a popular fixture with the Biggest Loser Ranch, with many positive testimonials about his inspiration.
The Biggest Loser fans of Sam, Stephanie and Koli are keeping them and their families in their hearts and prayers, sending many positive thoughts toward Sam Poueu’s recovery. The Biggest Loser 12 premieres on Tuesday, September 20. The show airs on NBC, Channel 12 in the Scottsdale area.
