Fall has been around for a few weeks, but we’ve got a long way to go before we get to the holidays. If you’ve put away the sundresses and sandals, but haven’t gotten around to updating your makeup, FACE Stockholm’s products can give you a dramatic and beautiful Fall look. Their Bold Beauty Collection, inspired by the independent spirit and magnetic presence of silent film legends (e.g. Louise Brooks), can provide a direction for your Fall look.
Go ahead, re-invent yourself!
There are a lot of products that create this dramatic look. My photo shows them all. The look is matte, no shimmery involved. It’s stark, but that’s the point. This is a daring look that flappers in the 1920′s made famous as they announced that they were emancipated women, no matter what any man thought!
Orange on the eyes was a huge trend for Spring 2012 on the runways at Fashion Week in New York, so if you purchase the Christo eye shadow, you’re getting not only a neon orange for now, but one that you can wear into Spring 2012. If it’s too bright for your taste, soften it with the flesh-toned nude shadow, or brown it down with the soft, brown, Ash shadow, or just use a light hand when applying the color. I think it’s truly lovely, and different (and at $20.00 per shadow, you don’t want what you already have).
On the lips, the lip pencil (made moist with a slick of truly wonderful, FACE Stockholm Vitamin C lip treatment) is also orange-centric. If f it is past your comfort zone to wear orange lips, just tone it down or wear another color over it. But try…and be daring! TIP: balance the look with bold brows (they are also big news for Spring 2012). To deepen your brows, add the Face Stockholm Browshadow in Myrrah. It is a medium-deep brown that will make blonde brows really stand out, and deeper brows look thicker and bolder.
Most of the other products are fairly self explanatory, and I have reviewed some of these in the permanent collection, including the excellent Volumizing Mascarain a slim, elegant, shiny, silver tube, and the Pressed Powder (in a shiny, square, silver compact I still think is one of the nicest on the market), but what you use as a foundation or base, is important in this look. It has to be perfect. The key to a flawless look is a good foundation. FACE Stockholm’s Picture Perfect Foundation has been re-released with 20 shades to choose from! The lightweight, creme foundation can be blended with your fingertips for maximum coverage, or with a damp sponge, for a more dewy look. Picture Perfect Foundation is particularly good for dry and mature skin. At $48.00 it should make your face look flawless…and it does! Finish with some Matte Pressed Powder.
Note, there is no blush used in this look. You’ll be adding enough color, without it. If you feel you need a little bit of flush, add something very sheer and pale. This is one of those looks that you either love, or feel is out of your comfort zone, but I had a lot of fun trying the products, and using them in different ways.
