Boston Metro North covers the North Shore, Merrimack Valley and Northwest Suburbs:
5 Day Outlook: Expect several changes in weather over this 5 day forecast period…A strong low pressure system over the Great Lakes will move into Canada. The associated warm front approaches northeastern Massachusetts during Friday. This brings another round of rain on Friday, with embeded heavy downpours possible, especially true during the afternoon. A thunderstorm or two cannot be ruled out. Later Friday night a cold front will sweep through the area. By Saturday morning skies should be clearing and the weekend looks to average out partly cloudy, breezy and seasonably cool. Weak low pressure may set off a few showers late Sunday night or early on Monday, but this should be a short lived event. Fair and dry weather follows for later Monday and Tuesday, although by Tuesday night yet another round of showers could overspread the area.
Many areas in northeast Massachusetts received about an inch of rain Thursday, with some areas seeing up to 1.5″ of rainfall…Another 1″ to 2″ of rain could fall during Friday and Friday night. Up to 3″ of rain is expected to our west and north, bringing more flood threats to the Connecticut Valley, including western Massachusetts, Vermont and northern New Hampshire.
Daytime highs will generally be in the 60’s, although low 70’s are possible for a time Friday afternoon. Overnight lows are expected to run in the mid 40’s to low 50’s, with some mid 50’s Friday night.
