Boston Metro North covers the North Shore, Merrimack Valley and Northwest Suberbs:
5 Day Outlook: The weekend is behind us and I have to admit the forecast for the weekend did not go as planned. Much more cloud cover during both days than was anticipated when we put the forecast out on Friday….Moving forward, we do have some challenges with this weeks forecast as well, especially with a potential strong storm late week.
High pressure moves offshore Monday, giving way to an approaching cold front that moves through our area during Monday night. As a result Monday will start off dry, turning wet late in the day into the overnight, as showers overspread the region….The front continues to move offshore Tuesday allowing for sunny and breezy conditions in its wake….Low pressure quickly approaches on Wednesday, setting the stage for more showers, or periods of steady rain into Wednesday night….Another much stronger storm, with significant impacts, could develop on the coast and give us a bout of heavy rain and wind later Thursday into Friday. However this is not a certainty yet and we could get off lightly with only a few showers. Much needs to be sorted out on this potential storm for late week and updates will be issued in my next 5 day outlook.
Daytime temperatures recover into the 60’s on Monday and Tuesday, before cooling back to the 50’s and possibly only in the 40’s on Friday. The overnight brings lows generally in the 40’s Monday night through Wednesday night, with temperatures dipping into the 30’s Thursday and Friday nights.
