Atlanta Boy George fans, the British pop idol attended the premiere and opening ceremony of “The Lady” during the 6th Annual International Rome Film Festival on October 27, 2011 in Rome, Italy.
Boy George, born George Alan O’Dowd on 14 June 1961,was once known as the glamorous “gender bender” singing lead of the band The Culture Club in the 1980’s, who wore dresses, makeup, long braids, lace gloves and a black hat. And we adored him for it as much as his hauntingly wonderful and heartfelt ballads!
But for the International Rome Film Festival, Boy George sported a demure enough black suit – with red roses embroidered on the jacket no less.
He accessorized with a jaunty chartreuse hat, tilted to one side, with a matching satin band. Boy George’s black tie had an intriguing motif on it which looked like a tree, with either a pacifier or a cord and plug attached – hmm… can’t be right!
Not to disappoint – or make us think that he’s slipping from his loveliness – Boy George’s eyebrows were immaculately plucked and penciled on, the eye shadow was applied expertly as was the blusher and lipstick. Boy George looked well put together.
The leading singer of band the Culture Club, also acted as Disc Jockey at the Disaronno Lounge for the 6th International Rome Film Festival and seemed to be enjoying his gig immensely as well. Boy George you’ve still got it!
