About Contra Dancing and these local events
Contra dancing is popular world wide and refers to a partnered folk dance where couples dance in lines facing each other. As always music will be provided by Ron Young and Fifth Reel and will be a toe tapping collection of old time and Celtic music. You won’t want to miss out on this fun, family event
For those who are not familiar with Fifth Reel you are in for a real treat! Since 1995 they have been entertaining the Grand Valley not only at Contra dances but at local Robert Burns dinners and St. Patrick Day events just to name a few. Fifth Reel member Ron Young will also be your caller and plays a mean hammered dulcimer and bodhran to boot.
