President Obama Announces New Assistance for Students
President Obama’s plan would speed up a measure passed by Congress reducing the maximum payment students are required to make each year, and would allow remaining debt to be forgiven five years earlier. The President’s plan would also allow borrows to consolidate different federal student loans for a lower interest rate. The programs could help more than six million students.
Canvass at the Magic City Classic This Weekend
Join volunteers from around Birmingham at the Magic City Classic parade for a great weekend of canvassing. We will meet at the Obama for America HQ at 2201 1st Avenue North, then be assigned sections of the parade route to collect “I’m in” cards for the President, recruit volunteers and register new voters. Be sure to stick around for the open house if you haven’t had a chance to visit their new headquarters!
