High pressure will slowly side off the Atlantic coast today, increasing a southerly low level flow into the region. South winds will increase today across the Capital Region, bringing some above normal temperature readings. A disorganized area of low pressure will slowly move toward the region tonight, dragging a cold front through the area by Wednesday afternoon and evening. Some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm are two will be possible along and ahead of this boundary starting late tonight through Wednesday evening.
Cool, Canadian high pressure will then build into the region to finish out the work week. Another fast moving system will slide through the region to start the weekend, bringing the threat for some light showers before passing east of the area to close out the weekend. There are some hints that a coastal low pressure area may form in the vicinity of the southern New England coast late Saturday, and ride northeast to Cape Cod by Sunday, however, precipitation from this system looks to be confined to areas south and east of the Capital Region. We may see some increased cloud cover as result of this feature though, thus filtering the sunshine.
