FOX TV and Chef Gordon Ramsay are collaborating on new project, spotlighting the hotel industry, in Hotel Hell (working title). Chef Ramsay will be checking into hotels with conditions that are less than stellar and using his expertise in the hospitality industry to turn things around.
Chef Ramsay’s current series ‘Kitchen Nightmare’ premiered a new season on Fox TV on September 23, 2011. His series, Hell’s Kitchen,’ aired its season finale on September 19, 2011. Paul Niedermann winner of Hell’s Kitchen by Chef Gordon Ramsay.
Ramsay has spent over a decade running restaurants a some of the top hotels in the world and running a boutique hotel in London. He knows firsthand the crucial importance of surpassing guests’ highest expectations. In the series, Ramsay and a team of hospitality experts will travel across the country to fix struggling hotels, mediocre motels and just plain bad bed & breakfasts.
Ramsay and his team check into hotels with problems from poor customer service to incompetent staff to dirty bedrooms to mold-ridden bathrooms. They will work with hotel employees to turn the hotels from hapless to hospitable. As he tries to turn these “No”-tels into successful hotels, Ramsay – in his own inimitable style – will go head-to-head with the owners and staff, raising the tension to maximum capacity. With reputations on the line, one thing is certain: if they can’t meet Ramsay’s high standards, they will never check out of HOTEL HELL.
“Gordon is amazing to work with and no matter what the premise, he delivers every time,” said Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “With an unprecedented three shows already on the air, Gordon is an incredible television success, and we’re really thrilled to put him through HOTEL HELL on FOX.”
“These are stories that everyone can relate to, because virtually all of us have had a bad hotel experience that’s turned a holiday or business trip into a total disaster,” Ramsay added. “It’s time to put the hospitality industry to the test.”
“We’re thrilled to be working with FOX on this exciting new format, taking Gordon’s expertise and applying it to one of the toughest business environments in the world,” said Adeline Ramage Rooney, VP Programs & Development at One Potato Two Potato.
