The first witness on the stand Friday of the Conrad Murray trial gave jurors a look into the equipment used on Michael Jackson. A representative of the medical Nonin Medical, Robert William Johnson testified under oath that the equipment used on the fateful day at the Jackson house was not for consistent monitoring and was used in a doctor office setting that didn’t need attendance like having surgery.
The pulse-and-blood-oxygen monitor used by Conrad Murray was an inexpensive version that gave repeat readings, but not recommended for the use of continuous use. After a tussling of the definitely of “continuous use” between the two sides, Johnson was extremely clear when he ended his testimony.
Comparing the type used to others, he acknowledged the model used at the house, compared to other more equipped versions could be the difference between life and death.
The Conrad Murray trial is expected to continue until the end of October.
