UPDATE: Frost Advisory issued for parts of Northeast Mississippi early Monday morning
The temperatures over the next few days overall are expected to be the coolest so far this season across Mississippi.
A strong cold front swept across the state Thursday night and early Friday morning, ushering in much cooler and drier air into the region.
This will result in average high temperatures that will only rise into the low to mid 70s through the weekend with overnight lows dropping into the 40s across much of the state.
The last time the capital city of Jackson experienced overnight and morning lows in the 40s was several months ago on May 18th, when the temperature dropped to 44 degrees. Many other areas will also experience their lowest temperatures in months.
