What do you think about when you think of bamboo? Do you think about the Panda’s at the Atlanta Zoo that feeds almost exclusively on this plant? Do you think about those little sticks you eat with at one of the many Chinese restaurants in the Atlanta area? Do you think about all those imported goods made from bamboo sold in places like Pier I? Or, like me, do you have a bamboo plant in your home.? I have had mine for many, many years and it continues to grow taller and taller and it has never been put in soil. It thrives in nothing but a deep vase of water.
Are there aspects about creation vs. evolution that bothers you? Do you take at face value the current teaching of evolution – how the world was formed; but not actually created? Do you ever ask yourself how could that be? How can anything exist that was not first created? Isn’t a pot created from the clay? Do you take your information from the Bible written thousands of years ago; or do you form your opinions based on the theory that the world just up and happened?
Do you know atheists who explain the reason they do not believe in God by using Bible scripture? Do you know non-believers who insult the intelligence of Christians and make fun of their faith in God and Christ? They discount that there are many Christian scientists as well as liberal anti-God scientist? Many read from the same book; and repeat the same mantra using the same words; and yet they insult the faith of others?
When you look into the face of your newborn baby, (and those you love) do you think of them as being “produced” from a pit of slime? Do you ever ask yourself where the slime came from? And if you break down the components of the slime and trace each one to another source, do you ever ask yourself where that source came from?
Do you like the idea that your children are being taught that they are descendants of monkeys? (Maybe that is the reason they act like them sometimes because they feel they have no eternal value.) With all the cloning and messing with God’s creation going on today, could it have been possible that some act in history could have produced a monkey from man? Na….. But that makes as much sense as saying that man came from monkeys.
The verse below from the Bible is quite plain in how God views the theory of evolution. This should also make parents stop and think about the decline in America with the advent of the anti-God actions of recent decades – restricted prayer and Bible reading, abortion, and evolution.
These are all man-made theories and in no way proves evolution; but actually proves that no matter how the infinite Holy God of the universe decided to make all of His creations – it does not satisfy the intelligent mind to believe things just happened like a puff of smoke – one would ask – where did the smoke some from; and who created it.
“Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.” Romans 1:19-21
God’s Word tells that that God can clearly be seen in the nature He created all around us.
In our continuing discussion of God and nature, the following is used with permission by the Creation Moments folks.
“Many plants reproduce simply by cloning. The most obvious example of cloning that comes to mind is the dandelion. Unless you get all of the main dandelion root out of the ground, each piece of the root can sprout another dandelion, identical to the parent.
The walking fern reproduces by cloning too. It moves across the countryside, albeit slowly, by producing new plants. A new plant is generated wherever the tips of its leaves touch the ground. Each new plant is identical to the parent.
The bamboo reproduces through underground stems. The different species of bamboo live anywhere from 20 to 120 years. During their life spans, they produce only by cloning. Then they flower – once. When it’s time for a particular species to flower, every member of that species, no matter where in the world it grows, flowers gloriously. Each flower can have as many as 100 pollen-producing stamens. Once the seeds are ripe and scattered, every member of that species in the world dies. At this point, the entire species exists only in the scattered seeds.
This is brilliant testimony to a recent creation of all bamboos at the same time. If evolution produced them and the forces of change worked on them for millions of years, one would think that all members of the same species would no longer be in perfect synchronization. Bamboo makes a strong testimony for the recent creation reported in Genesis!
Not only did God create the plant bamboo; but the humans He gave knowledge and talent to as well. Certain types of bamboo are the main menu for Panda Bears; and many beautiful projects and crafts are made from this cane type of plant.
Dear Father in heaven, I am continually amazed at the wonderful variety of life You have created. Help me to see more clearly how the creation witnesses to You and then voice that witness to those around me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
