Wedding Dance Songs has helped wedding couples choose their wedding reception music since 2009. Now, in addition to offering advice and tips about how to choose wedding dance songs, Wedding Dance Songs is offering an iPhone app that expands this information to match appropriate wedding songs to the right ballroom dances.
Research shows a year over year increase in wedding couples dancing formal dances at their wedding receptions. More couples than ever dance ballroom dances to their first dance as husband and wife, the father-daughter dance and mother-son dance. However, couples want to dance to modern music and do not know what ballroom dance is most appropriate for the song.
Another trend is that couples are learning to ballroom dance through classes and want to match a song to the dances they like best. This is especially so for the Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dances where the two parties learn to dance separately and do not get to practice together. If the father of the bride feels most comfortable dancing and leading a waltz, then it behooves the bride to find a waltz that is appropriate for that dance.
The Wedding Dance Songs iPhone app has over 100 First Dance songs, over 80 Father-Daughter songs and over 80 Mother-Son songs that were curated by a professional ballroom dance instructor. After teaching numerous couples how to ballroom dance specifically for their wedding, the professional dance instructor created a list of songs that are appropriate to weddings and ideal for ballroom dancing. Not only is this list included in the application, every song is annotated with personal notes about the song.
The songs are categorized by ballroom dance type, so couples can preview each of the songs and start to feel what a particular ballroom dance is going to be like. The previews also help the couples decide if they like the song. Since it is a large list, each song can be shortlisted and put in a favorites list for easy reference.
There are nine Ballroom Dance categories included in the app: Foxtrot, Nightclub Two Step, Rumba, Slow Dance, Swing, Two Step, Waltz, Viennese Waltz and West Coast Swing.
The company states that whether the wedding couple wants to choose songs for their special wedding dance songs first and then learn the appropriate ballroom dance to go along with it, or vice versa, this app will help.
Additionally, the app includes hundreds of appropriate wedding dance songs and their corresponding ballroom dances. Because this app is mobile, it can be easily taken to the dance instructor, wedding planner or DJ when planning music.
