To open Broadway Week, the show began with a performance from Sister Act. Each couple danced their routine to a song from a Broadway musical. It also featured the infamous group dance for all of the couples to participate in.
Rob and Cheryl danced a Jersey Boys themed Cha Cha Cha, after a visit from his mother during rehearsals, when she told him he has changed from a boy to a man. Cute. Len said it was clean, precise, and had good timing, but that there was no rhythm. Bruno said he needed to take it full on and that it was just adequate. Carrie Ann didn’t think it was as great, but he had much more charisma. That is, if you could hear the judges’ comments over the Kardashian sisters’ screams. (Carrie Ann: 8; Len: 7; Bruno: 7; Total: 22/30)
Nancy and Tristan fought during rehearsals yet again. She danced a Spamalot-themed Foxtrot – that’s supposed to be happy. Snap out of it, lady. Bruno called her Nancy “Dancealot” and told her it was well done. Carrie Ann called it a show stopper and was pleased they upped the choreography. Len said much more personality came out, but the part of the dance where she needed to be in hold was lacking because of the amount of “razzle dazzle.” (Carrie Ann: 9; Len: 7; Bruno: 8; Total: 24/30)
David and Kym danced a Grease-themed Quickstep, clearly chosen so that Kym could pretend to be Olivia Newton-John for two minutes on stage. Carrie Ann said it was a tough number to live up to, but they completely lived up to it, although they were out of sync. Len said it was a bit rough around the edge, but there was high enthusiasm. Bruno thought David was too charged up, but he got everybody going. (Carrie Ann: 8; Len: 7; Bruno: 8; Total: 23/30)
Ricki and Derek also danced the Quickstep. Len said she was really motoring and he loved it. Bruno said impeccable style and outstanding choreography and that her interpretation of the music was beyond belief. Carrie Ann said it was precise and beautiful to watch. (Carrie Ann: 10; Len: 9; Bruno: 10; Total: 29/30)
Chaz and Lacey danced a Phantom of the Opera-themed Tango. Lacey was pretty hard on him during rehearsals, letting him know that he really needed to step everything up. Bruno didn’t feel the character of the dance fit Chaz. Carrie Ann felt Chaz was the most aggressive, but she wanted to see more content and more difficult choreography. Len could see the effort, but commented on the lacking technique. (Carrie Ann: 7; Len: 6; Bruno: 6; Total: 19/30)
Hope and Maks put last week behind them and moved forward with their Rumba and guidance from the girls of the Dance Troupe. Then, Maks and Hope got into a tiff over a comment he made during rehearsals about everyone having lost faith in Hope being a good dancer. Their performance was to the theme from Rent. Carrie Ann said she saw the effort she was putting in, but that there was more to work on. Len told Hope she never lost faith in her, but he said it was her worst dance of the whole season. Maks and Len got into their own tiff. Bruno said her technique was off, but it wasn’t for lack of effort. (Carrie Ann: 7; Len: 6; Bruno: 7; Total: 20/30)
J.R. and Karina danced a Chicago-themed Quickstep to wrap up the individual performances of the night. Len said he is truly relentless. Bruno said he created a rip-roaring, audience-rising, 11:00 number. Carrie Ann said Bob Fosse would be proud. (Carrie Ann: 10; Len: 9; Bruno: 10; Total: 29/30)
- Ricki and Derek: 29/30
- J.R. and Karina: 29/30
- Nancy and Tristan: 24/30
- David and Kym: 23/30
- Rob and Cheryl: 22/30
- Hope and Maks: 20/30

The group dance was the last performance of the night, which was only done for entertainment value, danced to a song that included the lyric “Money makes the world go round.” Ironic.
Tune in tomorrow night at 8:00 pm on WISN 12 in Milwaukee to see another performance by Kristin Chenoweth and the next celebrity to exit the dance floor for good.
