Welcome back “Dancing” fans. Another couple was sent home, so let’s get right to the recap so you can find out who it was.
The Male Pros – Are you Gonna Go My Way
This was a fun, energetic number that simply oozed sex appeal. It really showcased each of the male pros rather well, highlighting their various strengths.
First two couples:
David and Kym – In Jeopardy
Carson and Anna – Safe
Though both are entertaining, Carson is less spastic than David, which makes for a better performance, so I’m not too surprised at this.
Encore Dance: Ricki and Derek – Jive
Even though I felt last night their chemistry was a bit off, this was very well deserved.
This was cute. Loved the bits with the fridge, tanning salon, and especially showing the spot where Tony quit. What wasn’t so funny was making a reference to where Hines fell on Kym. That was a bit tasteless in my opinion.
I liked the song, but was more pleasantly surprised by the return of Dmitry and Chelsie. I have been a fan of theirs ever since their respective times on “So You Think You Can Dance, ” so this was a real treat.
The Next Three Couples:
Kristin and Mark – Safe
J.R. And Karina – Safe
Ricki and Derek – Safe
No surprises there. They were all entertaining and clearly are the best dancers of the pack.
Macy’s Stars of Dance
I’m a sucker for Busby Berkeley type of stuff, so the beginning of it had me hooked right away. There’s just something about the way the movements create such beautiful patterns, it simply becomes hypnotic. I thought the modern take was a nice touch, but that the routine still kept the Berkeley type spirit alive.
Next Three Couples:
Rob and Cheryl – Safe
Nancy and Tristan – In Jeopardy
Chaz and Lacey – Safe
I’m also not too surprised at this. I want Chaz to make it, but unfortunately his injuries really kept his Quickstep from having that oomph it needed. Side note: Someone needs to let Brooke know when someone is blocked during one of her interviews. It really makes her look bad.
You know, I forgot she was going to be the guest today, and it’s kind of funny since I heard the song today not knowing it was her and immediately sought it out for purchase. It still works live, especially with the dancers in the background.
Next Three Couples:
Chynna and Tony – Safe
Elisabetta and Val – In Jeopardy
Hope and Maks – Safe
Still not surprised. I would think her fan base would be the lowest, plus despite improving, it was really hard to get her awful Cha Cha out of my mind.
Couple Going Home: Elisabetta and Val
I’m not shocked, but I am a little sad because she really did improve. Plus I’m sure a lot of fans were hoping she stuck around a bit longer, if only to see Val without a shirt some more. Oh well, at least they still have Maks.
