This Friday, September 30, start off your weekend with laughs at Don’t Block the Box Comedy Show at Wonderland Ballroom in Columbia Heights and then afterwards, slide over to the Sangha Decompression party at the Warehouse Loft for a night of dancing along side live fire, aerial and hoop performers to some of the Metro area’s most beloved music selectors.
Don’t Block the Box Comedy Show is a bi-monthly show featuring both local and visiting comedians and they are returning to DC to take over the second floor of the Wonderland ballroom, where the cover and drinks are cheap and the crowd is friendly.
This edition of Don’t Block the Box Comedy Show features:
Jake Young (Coming all the way down from NYC! Jake has performed at the Improv and Cinema Drafthouse opening for Doug Benson, Brian Posehn, Andy Kindler, and Jon Lovitz.)
Eli Sairs (Also coming down from NYC! Eli founded the 3 Chord Comedy Show and recently recorded his first CD!)
Kyle Martin (Back from Philly! Kyle has been part of the Asheville Comedy Festival and DC Comedy Festival, as well as opening for Kyle Kinane, Donnell Rawlings, and Jeff Dye.)
Tim Messenger (Globetrotting comic coming most recently a tour in Boston, Denver and Chicago and seen at Cool Dudes Hanging Out and Riot Act Comedy Club.)
The show is hosted by one of our local celebrity comedians, Reggie Melbrough—an Idaho-raised DC implant, also know as the KZ’s Comedy Contest winner and headliner, and regularly featured guest at BloomBars and Story League DC.)

Vocab du jour: Sangha is the Sanskrit (or Pali) word best translated as “association”, “assembly,” or “community” with a common goal, vision or purpose. So this event, or sangha, is all about uniting the Metro area’s diverse talent with some of the world’s best musical and performing artists and dancing together, playing together, and celebrating together in shared joy.
Featuring three spaces of music conducted by acclaimed DJ’s from around the world and as well as our own fave DJs:
TRUS’ME (Manchester, Prime Numbers)
