To those here in Atlanta – this just seems like – “Same song, second verse, could get better but it only gets worse!”
Seniors here in the Atlanta economy have not had a single raise in their pensions in over two years; and yet a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread cost them the same as those millionaires you speak about.
A sweet lady here in Atlanta said that she ate onion sandwiches during the Great Depression; and she would gladly do so again if our country were to turn back to God.
Mr. President, many seniors are taking on a second family these days as they care for their grandchildren; especially those whose parents are deployed overseas; but also children of parents who are unable… or will not care for them.
Seniors are still paying taxes and contributing in many ways to the economy; but you seem to look at them as a burden on society? Why is that sir? Their Medicare and pensions are not given to them… they earned them. And they are still paying every month for Medicare as any other insured person pays.
This is not the fault of the seniors; but poor management inside the departments that handle these pensions. Social Security is not a hand-out – welfare and all those other “give-aways” are.
You talk about cutting government spending. May I remind you of the federal grant given to Atlanta to build a streetcar line that only goes 2 miles at the cost of over 79 million dollars; while Atlanta school children do not have what they need in the school room. You talk about restoring the schools – that would have gone a long, long way restoring the schools in Atlanta. This type of foolish spending has got to stop.
Washington needs to tighten its belt before asking more from already drained citizens.
While billions of dollars are spent on “THE ARTS”( including funds to support porn theatres in California and artists like the one who depicted the Savior of millions of American Christians in a bottle of urine); our school kids don’t have the drawing pencils they need for their classes.
You ban what you don’t like and support what you do. You do not speak out about such vile remarks by Hoffa and Waters; and you do not speak out against the video made to simulate killing those associated with the Tea Party. How come, Mr. President, aren’t you the president of all the people? Does your silence indicate your approval?
Mr. President, are you using this new proposed act as a tool to tour the nation while giving campaign speeches for the next election? Shouldn’t you be minding the store back at home? Shouldn’t you be doing your job now rather than campaigning for the future?
While campaigning as a sitting President, you make derogatory remarks about those who are citizens in this country right now. You, as president, are supposed to represent all Americans; not offend them. You talk about both sides working together then you do and say things that pull them apart.
Was this speech designed to trap the Republicans into knuckling down to please you for fear they may look like the bad guys? I hope they are stronger than that; and work for the good things you reported; and deny the rest. They should spend a lot of time to see what this ACT really says; and how it will impact our nation’s economy in the short and long run.
Mr. President, could you lay aside the Saul Alinsky method, of attack, attack, attack, embarrass, embarrass, embarrass – humiliate, humiliate, humiliate and be reminded that we are all Americans not just the leftist/socialist/communist who want to use the poor and disadvantaged for their purpose; which will ultimately make slaves of them all? Mr. President, please be reminded that the majority of this nation still believes in God; and realizes that without God, this nation cannot survive.
Mr. President, if you really care about us and our nation, you would abandon this ungodly healthcare plan that is destroying this country. Healthcare has tripled here in Atlanta since its passage. An average fifteen minute office visit to the doctor is over $125.00. Billions of dollars have been given in grants through Ms. Sebelius in the Health and Human Resources Department. Will there be an accounting of every penny of that money; or does it just go down a black hole into someone’s pocket?
Recently $44,387,141 was given through the CDC here in Atlanta for states to fund “Stop Smoking” programs for those who choose to smoke. And the rest of the country, who doesn’t smoke, will have to pay for this. This will not work anyway… because a person has got to want to quit.
Don’t you think you should use that money to fix the loop holes in Medicare and Medicaid and get that fixed first? If you can ban chocolate milk for children, why not ban cigarettes and tobacco; or better yet put such a high tax on them that some people will quit.
How about the luxury tax? Why not increase taxes on things like jewelry, furs, leather, expensive sports cars and yachts, etc. Why not put higher taxes on movies, videos, magazines, and other entertainment items rather than milk, bread, fruits, and vegetables?
All of us want to have money in our pockets, more money to pay our bills, and more to buy our kids an ice cream cone; but….we value freedom more. Freedom from a government that breathes down our necks and dictates our every move. We want states rights returned to the states. States should decide what their schools do, what their churches do, what their tax money goes for.
While we pray for freedom of peoples all around the world, we have to fear daily about losing more and more of our own freedoms – taken away by our own government. Sir, that is how we won our independence by standing up against the English government of the colonies. Also, that was the basis of the French Revolution – and now the overthrow of governments all across the world.
We should not have to fight both our own government and our terrorist enemies. Mr. President, you have caused more division among the citizens of this nation than all presidents before you. You said “change.” We wanted good changes. You have given us intrusive and bad changes. Now you want to change the American flag as well?
Excuse the comparison, but you, Mr. President… you sounded like a high school football coach giving a half-time speech to a drastically losing team… so far behind with no chance of winning. You had your cheerleaders stand to the floor with just about every sentence; but Mr. President it is “We the people…. and yes….”We, the Tea Party people” that are taking a stand. We are encouraging and enthusing our nation to take a stand; not to continue in a godless fashion, but to become the great nation that we were. Sir, we are continually losing under your administration.
Eventually, this country is going to say that it is mad as @#$% – and they ain’t gonna take it anymore. Mr. President, do you want another Civil War in this nation? Is that the plan – divide and conquer? Will American have to fight another revolution?
Sorry, Mr. President, but you are crystal clear before the working and non-working class folks. We are tired of words, words, words – we want action, action, action. Pretty speeches and resounding high pitched enteric does not pay the bills – not those for the people in business; nor those in the people’s houses of Congress. Mr. President, we are on to you and your tactic of taking what Republicans suggest and then turn it back on them; as if it were your ideas.
Turning words back on those who opposes you does not move us ahead. It just mires us down deeper in the mud. We hear you criticize what they say; and you see that the people agree with them, then you adopt it as your own.
Mr. President – we hear your words – and your words – and your words; but Mr. President, “Where’s the beef?” Literally where’s the beef on the table of Americans? But also, where is the milk, the bread, and the vegetables? Where is the beef (strength) behind those words?
Sorry, Mr. President, but you sound like a re-run of your 2008 campaign speeches. Mr. President – just how many millionaires are there in this country of the 300 million or so citizens? What about the 45% of Americans who pay no taxes; but reap most of the benefits of those taxes paid by others?
If Mr. Buffet pays less in taxes than his secretary – then something is grossly wrong. But how many Mr. Buffet’s do we actually have in America? It has also come to light that Mr. Buffet is behind on his taxes.
The loop holes have made it easy for non-citizens of this country to make billions here in America and not pay taxes because they live in another country. No wonder so many non-citizen movies stars live in other countries. Money earned in America, should be taxed in America; and goods brought from other countries by American companies should be taxed as well.
It seems that someone said that we are broke; and you seem to say tonight that we are so in debt that we must go further into debt to get out of debt. Mr. President, America’s credit cards are maxed out. It is time to cut up some of them.
How can we possibly believe in you? Help us believe – help us believe – Mr. President. We want to believe and those who put you in office so wanted to believe. They believed empty promises – will they continue to believe now?
You can take a pig out of the mud; give him a bath and rub him down with costly perfume and put a pink ribbon on his head; but he will still be a pig. Turn your back and he will head straight back for the mud pit.
Mr. President, our economy (and nation) is sliding further and further into the mud pit. Instead of pulling the pig out, it seems the pig pulls everyone in with him.
Congress (and the White House) remind me of the children’s fairy tale, “The Golden Goose,” where the greedy sisters tried to steal a feather and each one got stuck fast to the goose. And those who came behind tried to free them and they too got stuck until there was a long line all stuck together trying to get free. Like them, it seems that none of us can be free until we are all free.
You speak about us competing with China – we owe our souls to the Chinese company store.
We are forced to buy their cheap goods (for the lack of any others) to grow their economy and causing great unemployment here in America. We may be funding the very army that we will one day have to fight in a war.
In your speech, you used many terms and phrases the Republicans have been saying for years. Then you coin them (and turn them) to make it look like they are your ideas.
We send our troops overseas to protect people who don’t want to be protected while the people here in America go unprotected. Even our soldiers, here in America, are being sought out and murdered.
Mr. President, we do not feel safer under you watch – we do not feel better off in our economy like you promised; and we have seen health care cost rise before our eyes like yeast bread in a very hot oven. A very hot oven.
Mr. President, we took note of all that you said. But sir, you forgot to tell us how you are going to spend money you don’t have… to help our economy that is already broken because of the outrageous spending of our federal government… by spending more money. Who, Mr. President, is going to pay for it when you are promising tax cuts to all those who are the only ones paying taxes.
Mr. President, like in the Jerry McGuire movie, “Show us the money.” And be reminded Mr. President, the government does not have a job, they do not produce an income, the money they use is OURS! We are supposed to be grateful that you take from those who work, to give to those who do not work (and those who are here in this country illegally); and then we have to beg for the crumbs that are left… and then be grateful?
Mr. President, may we also remind you that the money you and your wife spends on “stuff,” is also our money. You guys are flying high on “our” money; and “our” kids are doing without.
Is this what you mean by sharing the wealth? Taking it from us and giving it to you and your family as well as all the others in Washington?
You bailed out the banks and now look what they are doing to the American people. You talk about selling Fords and Chevrolets in other countries, why not help people in America buy more of them here rather then the foreign ones? You bailed out the auto industry as well didn’t you?
Mr. President, we are America and we should not have to depend on other nations for our economy. We should not be in association with global projects like UN, WHO, and all the other foreign entities that we mostly fully support. We are America; and while we welcome others to come to the country legally; we don’t welcome those who are stealing from our society. And we don’t want foreign entities telling us what to do; or how to change our laws and Constitution.
May I remind you that what Nikita Khrushchev said that America would be brought down from within without a single shot being fired? The actual quote was: “I once said, “We will bury you,” and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you.”
Mr. President, we are aware of those in this country working to bring her down. Socialism and communism and unions have not worked for other nations; why would we want it in America?
Unions have out lived their usefulness. They once were needed for humane working conditions and fair pay; today they exist to increase salaries of union employees and then take fees from their salaries; and put them in the pockets of gangsters.
Why would we want the federal government to control the banks, the schools, the private industry, and every aspect of our lives – that is what so many have given their lives to prevent?
Like it or not, Mr. President, Tea Parties, and other citizen groups are here to stay – and they will continue to stand for the Constitution and freedom; even over and above the economy. The freedom of this country was obtained by a bunch of rag tag “Minute Men” who fought against the largest army in the world. As the Tea Party grows, we may once again be called upon to free America. This time not with picks and rakes; but with votes, the truth, and determination to take back our country.
Tell your Marxist friends – we have no class structure in America unless people want to be in a certain class by their choices in life. But the rest should not have to pay for their choices. People work and earn money to give to welfare folks who could work; but they also rob others on the side either with a gun, or with fraud against the system.
This country and the economy cannot be fixed until society is fixed; and it will remain broken as long as God is taken out of the equation.
Lord, Mr. President we want to believe – but we can’t.
