Saddle up gang, Fall is here and we’re heading to another orchard! With two locations, Brown’s North in Emigsville and Brown’s South in Loganville, you have ample opportunity to partake in what they have to offer.
Stop by the Market at Brown’s and start searching for you perfect Fall eats. It is true that if you’re in the market (no pun intended, but yes, totally awesome of course) for ridiculously fresh, tasty fruit, Brown’s is a wondrous place to go! Just as Annie always got her gun for a shootout, you must grab some apples while at Brown’s. Seriously, who doesn’t love a great apple in Fall? Apples really do make the best companions for the Fall season, anyway. Jonagold, Melrose, Crispin, Stayman, Nittany, among a variety of other kinds, are available for your taking at Brown’s. Use these Fall fruits for a mirage of things like, applesauce, dumplings, bobbing at parites, and candy or caramel coated bliss. Oh, be sure to enjoy Browns’ apples in the form of apple cider too. This is an absolute favorite and must have staple of the season. Brown’s definitely cannot be mentioned without giving a shoutout to their apple cider. With a crisp, yet sweet taste, this stuff is the perfect Fall treat and is flavorful and scrumptious either cold straight from the fridge or steaming hot.
One of the greatest things about Brown’s, besides their yummy apples, is their selection of other local fruits and veggies, and baked goods. Green Beans, peppers, potatoes, eggplant, sweet onions, and other vegetables are avaialable at their Market. Strawberries, grapes, and peaches are just a few examples of the other fruit friends you will find at Brown’s. Always keep in mind though, that these produce goodies do have seasons, so don’t get too frustrated if they don’t have a particular item. Needless to say though, with the selection of fruits and vegetables at Brown’s, getting your five a day was never easier. It also never tasted so great!
Moving away from the outrageously healthy and fantastic produce, let’s talk baked goods. Brown’s is famous to many of us around the area for their fresh, homemade tastes. Pretty much any baked good from Brown’s is utterly fantastic, but the Giant Sugar Cakes (in both plain and chocolate chip) are so good you might have dreams about them. Soft, with the slightest crunch of sugar, these things are large circular discs of heaven. The cakes and sticky buns are oh so good as well. Oh, and the pies. Ooh, and the muffins… Okay, you get the point. Take some time to browse the Bakery at Brown’s. If you leave the Bakery empty handed you either hate sugar (which is kind of like hating life in the long run, to be frank here) or you just have much better will power than the rest of us!
Brown’s has various other facets of which you should go check out this season. Although a favorite place to go all year long, Brown’s makes the perfect stop for a cool and crisp or rainy and gross Fall day. Go forth and Fall friends! Try not to actually fall along the way though, as you might injure yourself (physically or in ego).
