Hope Solo may be a world class soccer player and athlete, but when it comes to being sexy she struggles. Watching her ‘get her sexy on’ is like watching Kendra Wilkinson last season learn to be a lady… painful. Thankfully, ABC’s (channel 7 in Colorado Springs) DWTS (Dancing with the Stars) is not just about the dancing; it is also about the star power and the journey taken. This week, the stars were asked to share their most memorable year with the audience. It wasn’t surprising when Hope said it was this year and the journey she took to make it to the finals for the World Cup.
Fans know the team made it, but did not win in the big game. She shared with the fans, it was not about winning (really?) but about the journey. It is a good statement, but would she be saying that if she won? Not likely. Regardless, Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the Cha Cha to the song ‘Tonight’ by Enrique Iglesias. The question here is if it was sexy, fans know Maks brings sexy to the dance floor, was he able to help bring that out in Hope? Check out the video to the left if you missed the show Monday night or just need a refresher.
Carrie Ann– ‘you’re a really strong dancer and that was very sexy and very hot. But there is something I want to tell you because I thought it was fantastic and I see so much potential in you I just want to take you and work on your walk’
Bruno– ‘Hope the sexy minx is out of the cage. You were going for him like a panther actually. The man eater is there. It is good to see you embrassing your gorgeousness, you’re a beautiful girl. They are right about the walk’
Len – ‘Found the costume and the routine a little bit provacative’ (for him). ‘However, having said that I thought the actually Cha Cha was very very good. I would have liked a sharper action in the forward locks… for me that was your best dance yet.’
If you were a judge what would you have said? This Examiner felt the performance uncomfortable and forced. The sexiest part of the dance was the outfit. It seems female athletes have difficult on this show because they lack the fluidity that ballroom dancing requires. Despite that feedback, Hope continues to make great improvement (which is all anyone can ask). Feel free to leave a comment below with your thoughts. They received a 24 out of 30, will it be enough to keep them in the competition?
