Elisha Cuthbert may star on the relatively new show “Happy Endings,” but she’ll always be known (well, at least for the next few years) as Kim Bauer, the daughter of Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer on “24.”
Story: Where can a ‘24’ movie take Jack Bauer?
It’s only been 16 months since “24” ended for good, and despite the cast and crew signing onto different projects (Sutherland, for example, will star in the upcoming new FOX series “Touch” with Danny Glover), fans of the show are dying to know one thing: Will we ever get to see a “24” movie?
While on “The View,” Elisha answered that very question.
“I hope so,” said Cuthbert. “I know Kiefer is also doing a new show, so it’s kind of a new chapter in his life. So I know he’s busy with that. But if there is one, hopefully I’ll be a part of it. That would be really lovely.”
Looks like that’s the best answer we’re going to get for awhile, because not even the principal cast members of the show know any details about a future movie.
Ever since “24” was winding down, I was against the idea of a big-screen adaptation. The show was built for television, and a “24” movie, to me, just becomes a typical “Die Hard” flick on the silver screen.

More than that, I get the feeling the writers altered the series finale because they were banking on the possibility of a future movie. The ending was nice between Jack and Chloe was nice, but it wasn’t nearly as impacting as many episodes of “24” have been over the years. And as much as I loved watching Jack Bauer for 8 seasons, I still maintain that his ultimate fate on the show was tied to his inevitable death, not his current fugitive status.
