Effective Teaching Strategies for Students with Behavioral Disorders
Confidence and skills for dealing with others are particularly necessary for all students with behavioral disorders. A helpful tactics for fostering self-esteem is to check the student’s sense of worth, and help with adjustment, when required. While it is of use to work for enhancement, teachers must understand that improvement will not be immediate.
A valuable stratagem for encouraging autonomy is for the teacher to speak to the student concerning self-government and model it at such time as the student shows an interest in expressing their freedom from dependence on others.

A useful approach for promoting self-respect is to support others to be welcoming among students who have behavioral disorders. The teacher must be a model that is tolerant, responsive, pays attention, and is just and reliable during interactions with students who have behavioral disorders. The teacher should also impart an elevated amount of optimism in the classroom.
When teachers react properly they attempt to expect circumstances where the student’s behavioral state will be susceptible and are ready to use suitable ideas to alleviate the problem (Keller, 2007).
