On Friday, September 23rd, 2011 Erasure played at Austin City Limits live at Moody Theater in Austin, Texas. It was Erasure’s first show in Austin since 1992’s Phantasmagorical tour and it was sold out for weeks before the concert. The new album Tomorrow’s World was produced by Frankmusik and mixed by Rob Orton, who has also done remix work for Lady Gaga and the Pet Shop Boys. Frankmusik is the opening act on the Tomorrow’s World tour. The set list at the Austin show included the top 20 Billboard hits “Always,” “Chains of Love” and “A Little Respect.” Erasure also sang “Love To Hate You” and “Breath of Life” from the Chorus album released by Mute in 1991.
Erasure fans were delighted to hear tracks from 1980’s classic albums such as Wild! and The Innocents live. “Ship of Fools,” “Blue Savannah” and Drama!” were included in the set list. The Tomorrow’s World set list also contained “Breathe” from the Nightbird CD and “Victim of Love,” “Hideaway” and “Sometimes” from The Circus. Some of the new compositions Erasure performed were “When I Start To (Break It All Down),” “Fill Us With Fire,” “You’ve Got To Save Me Right Now,” “I Lose Myself” and “A Whole Lotta Love Run Riot.” “Oh L’Amour” from the Wonderland album and “Stop!” from the Crackers International EP rounded out the collection of Erasure’s hits.

Technopop duo Erasure was formed in England in 1985 by Vince Clarke and Andy Bell. Previous to founding Erasure, Vince Clarke was a member of Depeche Mode and Yaz. Erasure lead singer Andy Bell performed at Numbers in Houston in January. He sang and played a DJ set at the event hosted by Past Present Productions. Vince Clarke’s remix of the Depeche Mode track “Behind The Wheel” from the album Remixes 2: 81-11 has entered the top three of the Billboard Dance Chart.
