LSU holds on to the top spot in the knotmove.com College Football Power Rankings this week after putting away Auburn. The Tigers are also on top of the BCS rankings as well as the AP and coaches polls. This week LSU received all but one first-place vote from our panel of college football writers.
“If the Tigers can keep playing games and winning easily without the services of their best players then I am not sure anyone outside of Alabama will ever beat them,” says Troy Hyde, Iowa Hawkeyes Examiner. “They certainly have impressed me. We’ll see how this story ends though.”
Alabama was tied with Oklahoma last week for second overall but with the Sooners dropping to a tie for ninth place overall following a loss to Texas Tech, the Crimson Tide are all alone in second place this week. Stanford moved up a spot (technically two spots) in to third place and earned one first-place vote. Oklahoma State tied Stanford for third overall in the point total. Boise State moved up two spots in to fourth place and Clemson moved form seventh to fifth. Oregon also moved up two spots to sixth place.
Kansas State debuts in the rankings by showing up at seventh place, followed by Arkansas, who moves up from the final spot to eighth. Michigan State also debuts in the rankings following their Hail Mary victory at home against Wisconsin, and is tied with Oklahoma for ninth place. South Carolina rounds out the power ranking this week.
