Gabriel Iglesias is coming to Comedy Central! Fans need to prepare to laugh until they can laugh no more. The comedian we love took time for an exclusive interview on Wednesday regarding the upcoming series on the Comedy Central network. Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution premieres on October 6, and the man behind the humor talked about the upcoming series.
The new Comedy Central series is intriguing for fans as Gabriel Iglesias can occupy any stage and make it feel like everyone in the room is acknowledged. So what should the television audience expect? According to Gabriel Iglesias, the audience will be laughing and fans will see new material from the comedian.
“People are going to be treated to a show with real funny people. Each episode is a half hour of good times and good laughs,” said Gabriel Iglesias. “Fans are going to get a rare look of a show that was done way outside the box.”
Sharing that the show had no scripts for the sets, the material picked was performed on how Iglesias was feeling and sharing an element of comedic passion that is felt through the cameras.
“In taping the show I had no script for my sets. I picked and performed matieral based on how I was feeling. One episode I performed in the moment, “shared Gabriel Iglesias. “Now that’s a rush!!!”
As most fans know, the cake element of Gabriel Iglesias isn’t one to ignore. Given cakes at almost every venue, the comedian posts his luscious treats on his Facebook page so the fans can see how elaborate and delicious these creations look.
“As for cakes I get sooooo many. It’s like having a birthday every day and 3 of your friends bought the cake,” states Fluffy.
So how does one prepare for a big show on Comedy Central? Well it sounds like it would be the same preparations as any other show where Gabriel Iglesias puts on his funny. Keeping it real (and that’s what the fans love,) there isn’t anything too special going down minutes before the curtains open.
“Five minutes before the show I’m behind the curtain cracking jokes with my production manager,” quips Gabriel. “I don’t ‘Get into the zone’ or need to be alone. I’m having fun before I hit the stage.”
On “Stand-Up Revolution,” Iglesias opens each of the six episodes with all-new material and introduces different stand-up guests during each show. Comedian and long-time friend, Martin Moreno, is the show announcer and guest commentator, occupying his own podium next to Iglesias throughout the series. Other comics will be appearing in the series.
Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution premieres the first of six episodes on Thursday, October 6 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The DVD of the series will be released on November 14th (a great idea for a Christmas gift for the Fluffy fan.)
Seeing Gabriel Iglesias on Comedy Central is just one way to watch the comedian. He will be at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on December 30.
