As the weather begins to grow chilly and more fall-like, enjoy one of these great seasonal activities at Aamodt’s Apple Farm or Farmer Ken’s Pumpkin Patch. Or scrap the outdoors altogether and stay inside at the Science Museum for the Girl’s & Science Event.
Aamodt’s Apple Farm
A hay bale maze, goat farm, hay wagon ride and a trip on the Honeycrisp Express will work up the kids appetite at Aamodt’s Apple Farm in Stillwater. But never fear, apples are available for purchase along with treats like apple brats and hot apple cider. Plus, download a coloring contest form if you are ten years of age or younger and bring it along to the farm when you visit. Each child who turns in a completed coloring contest form will get a free apple cider donut and will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the season. For more information, visit Aamodt’s online.
Celebrate girls and science at the Science Museum of Minnesota
The 9th Annual Girls & Science Event will take place Saturday at the Science Museum of Minnesota. The event is designed to encourage excitement and interest in the sciences for young girls throughout our community. Female experts in science and technology will answer questions and showcase the career possibilities available in their fields. Hands-on experiments and the FOX 9 news weather team will also be available. Coupons for up to four children to receive free admission to this event with a paid adult are available at the FOX 9 website. More information about this day to celebrate girls and science visit the Science Museum website.
Take a trolley ride to a pumpkin patch
From 12:30 to 4:30 pm this Saturday and Sunday, put a spin on the annual pumpkin patch visit by taking a trolley to get there. For $4, you can ride to Farmer Ken’s Pumpkin Patch and bring home a pumpkin. Visit the Minnesota Streetcar Museum website for directions to the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line.
