A great day of family fun is in store for those Clevelanders who journey to the Pigeon Roost Farm in Hebron, Ohio to attend their annual Pumpkinfest held daily through October 31 with extra special activities on the two remaining weekends. Hebron, Ohio is approximately a 2 hour, 45 minute drive from Cleveland.
Pigeon Roost Farm Pumpkinfest Celebrating their 31st year of farm family fun, Pigeon Roost Farm has a wide variety activities that will appeal to all ages. The Farm’s Great Pumpkin Fun Center features Giant Gerbil Wheels, a Pigeon Roost Baseball Throw, The Enchanted Forest with an obstacle course, a 3 acre corn maze (in the shape of Brewster, the Rooster), Hillside Rooster Racers and Turkey Tube Slides, the Pumpkin Express Train, the Conestoga Corn Box, duck races, a new fort, the Creepy Teepee Tunnel and kids will be able to participate in the Great Golden Gourd Hunt.
Toddler Town provides fun and safe activities for children under the age of 3. There is also a Soybean Maze for the younger children that allows the kids to have fun but still be within view of their parents.
Impressive displays of pumpkins are everywhere and you can choose your own pumpkin for purchase (prices at 39 cents per pound) with choices of pumpkins ranging in size from giants weighing hundreds of pounds to mini pumpkins. Also available for purchase are items like Indian corn, corn stalks, straw bales, hardshell birdhouse gourds and 12 varieties of squash.
Animals that you can meet and greet and pet include two camels, a miniature llama, sheep, two miniature cows, goats, ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, rabbits and Joseph the peacock.
Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) bring special activities to the Farm including tractor- pulled wagon rides, face painting and demonstrations. The Weekend of October 22 and 23 will be Costume Weekend and prizes will be awarded. Be sure to pose for a photo sitting in Paul Bunyan’s giant chair. Visitors will also be able to sample food cooked over an open fire including ham & beans, cornbread and pumpkin pie.
The Weekend of October 29 and 30 will feature Central Ohio craftsmen displaying their wares like baskets, wood carvings, candles and jewelry.
Admission to the Pumpkinfest (market area and country stores) is free but there is a $5 fee for admission to the Great Pumpkin Fun Center ( includes all activities, animals and the corn maze) and there is a $3 fee for the wagon rides. Parking is free.
Hours at Pigeon Roost Farm are 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily with the last admittance to the Great Pumpkin Fun Center at 6 p.m.
