The way you feels when you put on a pair of tall boots is like a magic wand tapping you with a burst of confidence. This confidence has no logical basis behind it but for reasons known only in the fashion universe strutting a pair of knee high boots will always put a little extra bounce in your step. I have experimented with three inch knee highs as well as tall riding boots and no matter the venue I always feel a bit more self-assured. Boston gives you multiple reasons to flaunt these wonderful accessories that owning a pair is a must. I narrowed my search to Back Bay and found a magnitude of boots ranging in both style, comfort, and cost.
The newest of the Tannery locations on Boylston is full of diversity and was my first stop. I was pleasantly surprised by their large selection. They carry somewhat higher end brands such Frye and Old Gringo and more reasonable boots such as Steve Madden and Born. This is the store for you if you are not sure about the exact style you need and ideally wouldn’t want to spend over three hundred dollars on your newest accessory. On a side note they have a grey bootie boot by Joe Jeans that I am obsessed with. It is on sale for one hundred and ten dollars and has more of a vintage casual style. The Tannery has several locations in Cambridge but I found their Boylston store to have the best inventory.
Cole Haan is a treasure chest of classic and comfortable footwear. I just recently purchased their gray tall boot and I’m captivated by their cozy feel and sleek appearance. Cole Haan’s conservative reputation is very accurate but not to be confused with their epic styles that are very timeless. Several boots that happen to be on my favorite list this year are the Air Whitley, the Violet Air, and the Air Alexis. These are all slightly different in design but similar in how versatile they are. All of these can be found in the Newbury boutique for under four hundred dollars.
The last place that I recommend stopping by is Saks in the Copley Mall. It carries higher end designers but the styles and quality are unprecedented. That being said they carry a boot by Boutique Nine that is fashion forward and priced at reasonable two hundred and fifty dollars. Alexander Wang’s Sigrid Leather Knee-High Boots are another favorite with their runway stature and price tag of almost nine hundred dollars. Saks is also the place to see the hottest designers latest creations such as Chole, Gucci, and Christian Louboutin. The benefit of shopping at stores such as Saks and Neiman Marcus is the array of designers as well as variety of different styles.
Tall boots make us feel daring and stylish. Therefore, do not let the intimidation of a high price tags defer you from feeling the confidence you deserve. Tall boors really can accommodate everyone’s personal style and economic responsibility.
