I don’t know why the FBI likes to pretend they’re friends with American Muslims. Maybe there was a time right after 9/11 when American Muslims were naive about how two faced they are. But when case after case of “domestic terrorism” turns out to actually be orchestrated by the FBI, and when we learn that the FBI sends informants into our mosques to seduce our women and then use the recordings to blackmail them into informing on our community… haven’t we learned yet?
Did you know that if I say, “Don’t talk to the FBI without an attorney present” that can be construed as a crime because I’d be hindering an investigation. So much for freedom of speech. Well, let’s just say that if it wasn’t a crime that would be my advice to you, but since it is, it isn’t, unless saying that is a crime, in which case I don’t. All I can say is… Know your rights.
Now it seems like the FBI is engaged in what Aki Peritz, a former intelligence analyst at the National Counter-terrorism Center called, “McCarthyism on steroids.”
In April 2011 the FBI was caught giving a training segment at the Bureau’s training ground in Quantico, Virginia which essentially said all Muslims were suspected terrorists and that they were wasting time focusing on the fight against al-Qaida when the real threat was Islam itself. The FBI’s William Gawthorp told his audience that Muhammad was a “cult leader” and that Islam was, “an ideology, not a religion.”
After getting blasted by top Senators like Joe Lieberman, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, and public outrage from Arab and Muslims groups, the FBI issued a delicately worded apology insisting that this was a “one time mistake” that was unintentional and was quickly discontinued.
Well, it seems like it didn’t stick. Now Wired.com has released video of the same trainer delivering the same lecture to a gathering of law enforcement officials at an FBI sponsored event in New York City.
Gawthorp tells his audiences, “We waste a lot of analytic effort talking about the type of weapon, the timing, the tactics. All of that is irrelevant if you have an Islamic motivation for your actions.” He tells his audience that “Muhammad’s mindset is the source of terrorism,” and that the 83% of the Quran and other Islamic texts are not religious but contain an “expansive doctrine with a single agenda: world imperium. Controlling the world!” He says Islam aims to “transform a country’s culture into 7th-century Arabian ways.”
No surprisingly he does not advocate appealing to the American Muslim community for help, but says that the would be, “like the Army and Navy asking Japanese-Americans to participate in the intelligence and operations paths trying to understand the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.” I would not be suprised if Gawthorp advocated the same treatment of Muslims today as the Japanese received during World War II. Concentration Camps here we come!
He insists that the best strategy is to go after Islam itself, and undermine the validity of Islamic scriptures and Muslims leaders. He said, “If you remember Star Wars, that ventilation shaft that goes down into the depths of the Death Star, the shot a torpedo down there. That’s a critical vulnerability.” Then he used a laser pointer to circle the words “Holy Texts” and “Clerics” on his overhead projection and said, “We should be looking at, should be aiming at, these.”
It wouldn’t be the first time the U.S. attempted to manipulate Muslims by distorting Islam’s teachings. This tactic is nothing new. It is widely known, but not widely admitted, that during the Cold War the CIA spent $50 million printing schoolbooks designed to radicalize Afghan kids at the Education Center for Afghanistan. The CIA intended to brainwash the Afghan children to wage Jihad against the Soviets. Today those kids have grown up to be the Taliban. When we talk about radical Madrassas teaching extremism in Afghanistan and Pakistan it’s important to keep in mind that they are still using millions of text books printed at the University of Nebraska. It’s as if the Monster has finally come home to confront Dr. Frankenstein.
