The runways provides some of the hottest clothing in the world. It is like a gateway into the fashion forward looks that we are suddenly adore. Besides the clothing it is also a portal to come of the beautiful makeup ever. It’s a first glimpse of what is to come but unfortunately most of the makeup looks need to stay on the runway.
Extreme smokey Eyes: Smokey eyes always look great but on the runway they are more played out. They tend to wrap around the sides of the face and go all the way up to the eyebrows (some beyond). This is not something you would normally wear to the store, or even to a formal event. It is in fact something that belongs on the runway for three main reasons. A) The look is borderline between raccoon eyes and sultry. If you are not wearing a gown with this look you are going to look a tad bit silly. B) The thick black coloring, the black eyeshadow, and the black eyeliner is bound to smear. There is no real way to keep makeup in a particular spot and if you touch your eyes the wrong way you can smear it all over your face. C) This particular look can make someone look as if they have been beaten up or have black eyes. In the end this look belongs on the runway and no where else.
Over dramatic Eyelashes: They look absolutely amazing for runway looks that want to incorporate birds or feathers in their styles. It is not very wise to wear this unless on the runway due to two very important factors. A) They are extremely long and can become not only heavy to wear but blinding in a sense. B) They are not meant to be worn during a day to day basis because of how expensive they are, and how much glue is required. The glue for such lashes can cost anywhere between $150 to $650 put them in place and keep them there.
Neon Lipstick: Looks amazing with a matching gown or wrapped around dress but it’s a big no no off the runway. Neon lipstick is somewhat staining when put on and the amount needed to put it on is a bit much. A good quality made neon lipstick can be charged up to 100 bucks. It’s not worth it. If you are looking for a much more bolder color choice – stick to the classic red lipstick.
These are just three major (and popular) runway looks that belong on the runway. They are fashionable and sexy at the time but not great if you are going to school, work, or even to the store. Remember fashion and beautiful make up looks are about making you feel sexy, but they also inspire people. Create your own looks from the things you see on the runway!
