Exoplanet War is a great new sci-fi browser game that has gotten really popular recently. As of October 26, 2011 they have eleven servers released in a relatively short time for a new game of this genre. The game breeds familiarity with Evony and other real-time strategy games in a web browser setting.
What makes this so new and exciting?
Reason 1: Well-polished and updating
In the first few weeks since release, many understandable bugs popped up and were quickly and silently resolved. The interface now works so smoothly for such a new game it draws in new players day by day.
Reason 2: Beautiful graphics
There are many space simulation games, but not many with a graphical interface as aesthetically pleasing as Exoplanet War. This game is the closest thing to a Starcraft for the browser game genre. Although Targa Games Limited is relatively unknown in the industry, we are rather impressed by the artistic designs for alien architecture in Exoplanet War.
Reason 3: Up-to-Date Event Organization
Daily quests and tasks are available for players including special holiday related events. So far the halloween event is running, and players are gaining benefits from the randomly spawned event points. The random and frequent respawn rate for mobs make sure that there is enough for all, making sure that the events are dynamic and reach everyone server-wide.
Reason 4: Well moderated Forums
Moderators, Administrators, and other players are available on each forum and sub forum to answer questions from new and experienced players. Each serious question seems to be replied to at least once by at least one moderator, showing dedication on the side of the Targa Games Staff and volunteers.
Reason 5: Fun and Unique game devices
Four different resources are available in the game with each of the three races specializing in one of the first three. Metals, Crystals, Aqueous, and Xeno are all resources sought after on the maps. One resource, Xeno, is especially sought after by all races because it is the in-game equivalent of fuel, giving the players the ability to maintain massive armies as long as they have a steady supply of that resource.
So to conclude…
Go and try out Exoplanet War. It is free to play, and so far the mechanics are very well-balanced between all players.
