Yesterday (Oct 27) the Massachusetts based band Four Year Strong released the official music video for their song “Just Drive” on the bands YouTube channel. The video revolves around the band members getting lost and running away from what seems to be aliens. One thing is for sure, you do not want to be in a survival group with the members of Four Year Strong if a zombie, or alien attack hits the planet. During the “Just Drive” music video the band members (Dan O’Connor, Alan Day, Joe Weiss, Jake Massucco) are driving around lost in a pick-up truck. All of a sudden what seems to be a light from an alien aircraft starts chasing the car, and the guys decide to get out and run threw a cornfield in order to escape the bright lights.

Needless to say it is every man for himself because both drummer Jake Massucco and bass player Joe Weiss get sucked up by the white light and the remaining members keep running without trying to save them. The music video ends how it begins, with all guys in the truck. It seems they are reliving the same experience only at different times. The first time they are in the truck it is 9:08 and at the end of the “Just Drive” music video when everything resets, it is 11:08.
I think the Four Year Strong team took the “Just Drive” title a little too literal when creating this music video. They went straight storyline, and it was a little too ridiculous of a concept. The music video actually takes away from the song, not showcase it like a music video should.
The song “Just Drive” is from Four Year Strong’s upcoming studio album, In Some Way, Shape, or Form which is set to be released November 8, 2011 via Decaydance/Motown Records.
