Registered guests of the Walt Disney World Moms Panel Fan Meet! received a confirmation e-mail yesterday informing them of a new location for the free event: the Odyssey at Epcot.
The Moms Panel meet-and-greet was originally scheduled to be held at Disney’s Yacht Club, an Epcot Resort. Instead, the special event will be held at the Odyssey, which is located between Test Track in Future World and the Mexico pavilion in World Showcase.
Admission to the event includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres and face time with the Moms Panel. The Odyssey, which was originally a quick service restaurant, is typically reserved for private functions such as parties and cooking demonstrations, so it is a logical choice for the Moms Panel Fan Meet.
The official Walt Disney World Moms Panel confirmation e-mail did not provide details on the length of time guests will be permitted to stay in the Epcot theme park without a regular park ticket or pass. Perhaps an extended stay will be a surprise way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Walt Disney World.
Epcot venues that host private parties are generally accessible via a backstage entrance. Therefore, registered guests are admitted to the event venue without gaining admission to the rest of the theme park. Nonetheless, those attending the Moms Panel Fan Meet can still dream.
According to the official Walt Disney World Moms Panel confirmation e-mail, guests are instructed to arrive at the front entrance of the Epcot theme park and check in at a table marked “Walt Disney World Moms Panel Fan Meet Registered Guests Only.”
At the check-in table, registered guests will receive entrance tickets and will be instructed regarding the location of the event, which takes place between noon and 2:30 p.m. on October 1. This event coincides with the and the opening weekend of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.
Registered guests have expressed some confusion on social media sites regarding the nature of the “entrance tickets” because the instructions are followed by the statement “NOT VALID FOR THEME PARK ADMISSION.” In addition, Epcot parking is not included, and Disney reserves the right to change or cancel the event without notice.
Some guests are concerned that they will be required to pay for admission to Epcot in order to attend the Moms Panel event. Yet the confirmation e-mail makes it clear that attendees will receive free admission to the event, which will be held inside Epcot.
A photo ID is required at check-in. Disney will not accept transferred or photocopied event confirmation forms, so only guests who are officially registered for the event will be permitted to attend.
Guests should arrive with completed photo release forms for registered adults and children who will attend the event. Guests who wish to decline the opportunity to be included in photographs of the event are instructed to inform a cast member upon check-in.
