Webster’s Dictionary defines gadget as:an often small mechanical or electronic device with a practical use but often thought of as a novelty. Synonyms include: appliance, contraption, contrivance, gimmick, gizmo (also gismo), jigger and widget. The word was first used in 1886, possibly “invented” when Gaget, Gauthier & Cie, the company behind the repoussé construction of the Statue of Liberty (1886), made a small-scale version of the monument and named it after their firm (see http://my-gadgetinfo.blogspot.com/p/gadget-review.html);
Today, the word describes much more than novelty items, it describes tools, gear and paraphernalia, that without this so-called stuff, life for us in a modern world be a little (or really, a lot) more complicated. In these times, gadgets are not necessarily mechanical or electronic, but definitely essential.
For a girl, gadgets are a life blood. They are sources of inspiration, helpers, and even constant companions. Without these items, the ladies of today would be the ladies of yesterday. Now that’s not bad, it’s just not what we’ve grown to become: modern, fearless, take-no-prisoners kind of gals.
