No matter what time of year, Great Wolf Lodge, DFW’s top family resort, is a biome all its own. Complete with Green Seal Silver rating for its support of recycling and conservation, the Great Wolf Lodge of Grapevine, is not only the largest in the country’s eleven Great Wolf Lodge locations, but also the most modern and respectful of the wooded area that inspires its decor and fun. Kids are encouraged, entertained and appreciated here all year-round.
Howl-O-Ween is going on now throughout the end of October. From pumpkin-painting, to scary storytime to a costume parade, treats and eats will tickle the family silly.
Snowland will begin not long after. Snowblowers blow real snow down from the ceiling, that melt just before touching the floor. It’s winter fun without needing a coat! The best way to describe the lodge in December would be Winter Wonderland.
Toddlers and munchkins alike will delve into fantasies at story time, Cub Club, Cub Paw Pool, Scoops Kids Spa, and other activities that accommodate the littler ones. Meanwhile older kids and even adults will get their share of thrills from the waterpark rides like Fort MacKenzie, River Canyon Run, and the Holwin’ Tornado. At 84 degrees year, both Winter Texans and year-round Lone Star denizens will be able to enjoy water rides without the sunburn.
The hardest sell in the family when it comes to vacations is usually the teenager. Great Wolf Lodge will make their eyes roll, but in the right direction. With the tech-friendly lounge where they can listen to music, play video games including Guitar Hero and just be too cool for the rest of the family, whether they wanted to or not, they will have a good time.
For the whole family, grills, snacks, sweets, and even a Starbucks line hallways for after water appetites. Tummies won’t rumble for long here, only imaginations throbbing with excitement over what will be discovered next.
Gift shop windows parade their wolf-wear as well as high fashion accessories, souvenirs, toys, and haute women’s wear. The Magic Shop caters to another crowd. Adventurers and apprentice Magi will land here and choose the wand that will lead them on a quest for glowing crystals, secret messages relayed by photos on walls or sleeping trees, and finally a devious dragon.
Enveloped in a family friendly fantasyland, Great Wolf Lodge is a welcome getaway for those near Grapevine and those whose imaginations have lead them to a dream vacation far, far away.
