The fall season officially began on September 23rd, but the spooky ghosts and goblins won’t be here for a few more weeks. Just because Halloween is a few weeks away doesn’t mean there is nothing to do now. The fall season offers many fun things for families to do. Below you will find a list of things to do this October with your family.
The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museumis hosting a Fall Fair on October 10th from 12 – 4, the fair is included with regular admission. The Museum is also having a Halloween Spooktacular on October 21st, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
Pumpkinville is located at 4844 Sugartown Road Great Valley NY. They are open every day from 9am to 7pm. Best part admission is FREE, and even the four legged children are welcome if on a leash. They have pumpkins, hayrides, corn mazes, gem mining, farm animals, pony rides, cow train, goat mountain, corn cannon shoot and an old fashioned apple cider mill.
The Great Pumpkin Farm is located at 11199 Main Street, Clarence NY 14031.The great pumpkin farm is open daily 10am to dusk September 24th through October 31st. They have many things throughout the month of October; each weekend features a new set of activities. Visit their Special Festival Weekends to find out what’s going on each weekend of October. The 1st and 2nd features a world pumpkin weigh off and Muttalica dog show.Tickets are $5 and discount tickets are available at Wegmans.There is too much to do here to list, boo barns, playgrounds, hayrides, and a corn maze are just a few of the fun things to do at the great pumpkin farm.
Greg U Pick has a 10 acre farm full of pumpkins.They also have squash, corn stalks, gourds, fresh locally grown apples and more.They also have a corn maize and all the proceeds from the corn maize go directly to Roswell Park. So not only are you having a great time but helping a worthy cause. Bring cash because they do not accept credit/debit cards.
Kelkenberg Farm of Clarence Center opened September 24th and will be open every weekend in October and Columbus Day from 10am to 6pm and Fridays from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is $9 and includes hayride, pony ride for the children, farm tour, straw maze and any pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Enjoy horse drawn hayrides to our U-Pick pumpkin patch. Cornstalks, gourds, pumpkins, apples, cider, squash and baked goods are available for purchase.Kids can play in the Straw Maze, wash your pumpkin at the pumpkin pump, “shuck and crack” some corn, or race the duckies. You can even make your own cowboy lasso, jump rope, or pet leash on our old fashioned rope maker.No pets are allowed.
Kellenberg Farm of Akon is open every weekend in The farm is open to the public for hayrides and pumpkin picking weekends in October and Columbus Day from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. No reservations necessary at this time. Weekday visits are by reservation only. Admission is $12.50 and includes the hayride, pony ride for the kids, self-guided farm tour to see the animals, any pumpkin from the patch and a walk through our new corn maze. For the $9.00 admission you get a hayride, pony ride for the kids, self-guided farm tour to see the animals and any pumpkin from the patch. $5.00 per person will allow you five acres of fun in the corn maze only.They have a huge selection of pumpkins in the yard along with a variety of squash, gourds, apples, fresh apple cider, Indian corn, corn stalks, straw bales, hardy mums, and so much more.
Spoth’s Farm Market is located at 5757 Transit Road, East Amherst NY 14051. The farm is open Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 7 pm. Saturday & Sunday from 8:30 to 6pm. Check out the Autumn page for the fun at Spoth’s farm.
Holiday Hollow is like a Halloween meets pirate’s meets renaissance festival. They feature a talking pumpkin show, the Wacky Witch Show and so much more. They are located at 1410 Main Road (rt. 5).
Becker farm located at 3724 Quaker Road, Gasport NY offers many farm and fall activities for young and old.
Browns Berry patchlocated at 14264 Roosevelt Highway Waterport, NY 14571 goes from berry patch to pumpkin patch in the fall.
Wheatfield pumpkin farmlocated at 6920 Nash road offers haunted hayrides, pumpkins, and mini maze. Check out the PDFfor a list of family friendly activities.
Zarpentine farms located in Hilton NY offers a corn maize and fun things on the weekends. This weekend features an Apple Fest.
With so much to choose from there is bound to be something for you to do this fall season.
