Still not sure what you’re doing for Halloween? Charlotte sure offers a lot when it comes to the most haunted of weekends. Starting tonight and lasting through Halloween, bars, restaurants, and local hangouts are gearing up to both trick AND treat party-goers to a dangerously good time! Check out some of the events occurring below…pick and choose what you like most from the maniacal menu of happenings…or make a Halloween-crawl out of it!
Thursday, October 27th:
SCarowinds Halloween Haunt XI: Visit as this “theme park” is transformed to a “scream park” and enjoy the largest, most horrific Halloween event in the Carolinas. Features a new blood-curdling 6082 square foot maze and two new live shows. In total, SCarowinds’ Halloween Haunt XI features eight haunted mazes, three scare zones, and more than 450 disturbing monsters prowling the midways. Open from 7:00 p.m. to midnight and from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29.
Halloween Hell-Raiser @ Tilt on Trade: Starting at 8pm, enjoy drink specials like $3 liquor drinks and spiced apple shots. No cover charge and complimentary drafts for anyone dressed in a costume! ($5 cover charge for guests without a costume). Night’s events also feature a live DJ spinning tunes.

Friday, October 28th:
‘Stache Bash @ Mez in the Epicentre: Not necessarily Halloween-related, but there will be costumes! Come join the festivities as 34 ‘stached men will take the stage for “Best Mustache” judging in various areas. This annual event is a fundraiser for Mustaches for Kids that raises money for a different local charity each year. Contestants dress up to suit the personality of their ‘stache’, so come for some laughs and wear your costume as well! Features a Chinese Auction with tons of cool prizes!
Nightmare on Morehead @ Dilworth Neighborhood Grille: From 8pm – 2am, come join the festivities for this huge annual event featuring a $5 cover for those in costume, ONE free draft beer, free parking, and DJ Spooky. Two costumes contests with cash prizes! Drink specials all night and a free jello shot for the first 300 people attending.
Saturday, October 29th:
Gravedigger’s Ball with OneRepublic: Dixie’s Tavern (parking lot)Area’s largest costume contest, DJs and live music performances from chart-topping acts! Dress up in your best costume and come on out to one of the biggest Halloween celebrations in the country and an annual Charlotte event. This year, OneRepublic will headline the event with special guest Cobra Starship. Ages 18 & up
Red River Resurrection @ The U.S. National Whitewater Center: The USNWC is turning its whitewater river “blood red” on Saturday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate the Halloween weekend. In addition to the red river, festivities will include live music, an Oyster Roast, a Cornhole Tournament and costume contests. The Red River Resurrection is free and open to the public.
Music, Monsters & Mayhem @ the Time Warner Cable Uptown Amphitheatre: Musical Guests feature Company of Thieves, Simplified, Blizzard of Ozzy, Kiss Alive, Breaking Laces and The Hundred Days.Ticket includes access to all performances, admission to select club/restaurants inside the NC Music Factory and admission to the Haunted House.
Upscaleween @ Cabos Mexican Restaurant (6676 Carmel Road): Party at Cabos for a $300 cash prize for the best Halloween costume and VJ Minuche on music. No cover charge for this event.

Sunday, October 30th:
NC Fright Factory: Creative director Martin Barry (also known as Charlotte Roller Girls’ freaky clown) has added his own personal and scary touches to the three-part haunted house at NC Music Factory. There’s also a paintball shooting range, midway games and live entertainment. Ticket booth opens at 7 p.m. and tours start at 7:30 p.m. each night. $13. Continues through October 31st at the.
